Care guide

Your calamai bag is cotton on the outside with a structured lining that gives the ruffles their shape. A little care keeps it looking new for years.

Everyday

• Empty it now and then and give it a gentle shake to lift dust out of the ruffles.
• Avoid overloading it: heavy items stretch the handles and flatten the shape.
• Keep it away from long hours of direct sun, which can fade bright colours.
• Watch out for pens, makeup and wet umbrellas inside. Cotton absorbs stains quickly.

Cleaning

Spot clean first

For small marks, dab (don't rub) with a damp cloth and a drop of mild soap. Work from the outside of the stain inwards, then blot with a dry towel.

If it really needs a wash

• Hand wash only, in cold water (max 30°C) with a gentle detergent.
• Press the water through the fabric. Don't twist or wring, as this breaks the structure of the lining.
• Rinse well and press out the water inside a towel.

Drying & reshaping

Lay it flat or hang it by the handles, out of direct sun. While it's still damp, fluff the ruffles with your fingers and stuff the bag with a towel or paper so it dries in its shape.

To refresh flat ruffles, steam them lightly or iron on a low setting from the reverse side of the fabric.

Storing

Store your bag stuffed with tissue paper, standing up, in its dust bag or a cotton bag. Don't squash it under other things: the ruffles will thank you.

Guía de cuidados

Tu bolso calamai es de algodón por fuera y tiene un forro estructurado que da forma a los volantes. Con un poco de cuidado se verá como nuevo durante años.

En el día a día

• Vacíalo de vez en cuando y sacúdelo suavemente para quitar el polvo de los volantes.
• No lo sobrecargues: el peso estira las asas y aplana la forma.
• Evita dejarlo muchas horas al sol directo, que puede apagar los colores.
• Cuidado con bolígrafos, maquillaje y paraguas mojados dentro. El algodón absorbe las manchas rápido.

Limpieza

Primero, limpieza localizada

Para manchas pequeñas, da toques (sin frotar) con un paño húmedo y una gota de jabón neutro. Trabaja desde fuera de la mancha hacia dentro y seca con una toalla.

Si de verdad necesita un lavado

• Solo a mano, en agua fría (máx. 30 °C) y con un detergente suave.
• Presiona el agua a través del tejido. No lo retuerzas ni lo escurras, porque se rompe la estructura del forro.
• Acláralo bien y quita el agua presionándolo dentro de una toalla.

Secado y forma

Déjalo en plano o cuélgalo de las asas, lejos del sol directo. Mientras aún esté húmedo, ahueca los volantes con los dedos y rellena el bolso con una toalla o papel para que se seque con su forma.

Para recuperar volantes aplastados, dales un poco de vapor o plánchalos a baja temperatura por el revés del tejido.

Cómo guardarlo

Guárdalo relleno de papel de seda, de pie, en su bolsa guardapolvo o en una bolsa de algodón. No lo aplastes bajo otras cosas: los volantes te lo agradecerán.
